Michael Li joined RILA in 2026. A native of the northern Virginia area, he enjoys assisting members of his community navigate the immigration legal system. 

Prior to joining RILA, Michael worked with individuals detained by ICE as a legal fellow with the Legal Aid Justice Center’s Immigrant Justice Program. His work included drafting habeas petitions, representing individuals in bond hearings, and preparing asylum cases.  

Michael graduated with a B.A. in history from Virginia Tech. He received his J.D. from George Mason University where he was a member of the law school’s Immigration Litigation Clinic.
