As a legal assistant and interpreter, Sixto facilitates client communication and supports the team in providing effective legal representation and advocacy.

Prior to joining the RILA team in 2025, Sixto graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019 and spent three years as a teacher in a shelter for unaccompanied children and adolescents. Following that, he worked as a paralegal with Kids in Need of Defense, where he contributed to custody, SIJ, and asylum cases.

For Sixto, RILA’s work comes down to joy—seeing a client’s outpouring of relief when they receive a work permit, SIJ approval letter, asylum grant, or green card. He is passionate about giving clients peace of mind and hope that they may continue their life in the US with a secure form of legal relief.
